What I Bought, Used, and Loved in 2024

In the spirit of being the founder of a brand that’s all about sharing what you do and love, I wanted to pull together some of the items & brands I consistently found myself using, buying, sharing, and of course… loving.

I tried my best to categorize :)

FOR KIDS

  • We added a seat to our Lectric bike (which we LOVE).

  • Lake Label has the BEST swimsuits — started by a local Des Moines gal so I always love hyping her.

  • I splurged a little and got Penelope Doc Marten sandals and it made me happy.

  • Every year we grab a new coat for the kids from Active Endeavors. Lincoln is rocking this.

  • Five years in and I am still very thrilled about my UppaBaby stroller and the things I listed on my “I would get this again if I had another kid” list. We added the Rumble seat this spring and so glad we did it and that it got used all year.

  • Very pleased to have gotten this giant toy organizer for Lincoln’s closet.

FITS

  • I got these little clogs I live in.

  • Cannot get enough of these Baggu socks and want 20 more from Marne.

  • This sweatshirt was a great, bright snag I grabbed in NYC.

  • They’re definitely something I just bought so my love of the items is fresh & new but this merino wool sweater & cashmere sweater… dang I’m glad I got these.

  • I live in my SKIMS tanks and boxers. Have a few more on their way rn.

  • I got my feet measured at Fleet Feet in the East Village and HIGHLY recommend. I used to get significant pain when I ran and that vanished (minus the time I ran too hard and fast this fall but that was silly).

  • Grabbed this simple, gorgeous dress from my friend Christina who sells cabi.

  • I wore both of these sandals all summer long.

  • I really need a new swimsuit but dang I’m a fan of Summersalt’s quality / designs. Probably will try these from Marne as well.

  • Basically I could live in all of our Girlfriend Collective workout items.

  • My go-to jean jacket, and two pairs of jeans.

HAIR & MAKEUP

  • I went curly for approximately 2-3 months. It was a fun, fast journey. It worked well with medium length hair, but when I went even shorter this fall, the curls just didn’t work. That said, I’ll probably go back and when I do I’ll use the Act & Acre items again cause they’re so good.

  • Speaking of Act & Acre, I added their scalp treatment items on rotation this year and am so glad I did. I’m in the middle of trying their shampoo. I’ve been in LOVE with Crown Affair for the past couple years, but frankly it’s sometimes easier to order from the same brand.

  • Still absolutely LOVING my Jones Road goods. Those three especially.

  • What I certainly won’t part ways with when it comes to Crown Affair is the hair oil and scalp oil. The quality is superb and you guys, the smell.

  • I could never give up my Jill Razor for at home dermaplaning.

CUTE SHORT CURLY HAIR

TRAVEL

  • I adore my Away luggage. We added the XL one for Panama & Costa Rica this winter.

  • Every part of me wants a huge stash of Dagne Dover but admittedly I am pretty content with what I have and use for every trip.

  • This comes with me on every trip. Marne carries a plethora of their goods.

HEALTH & FITNESS

  • Still using and loving my Higher Dose PEMF Mat & sauna sack. I’d say I opt more for the sauna sack in winter.

  • I committed to seeing my personal trainer, Jeremiah this summer and still love it.

  • Ritual vitamins and Synbiotic+ are my go to.

  • Sunscreen! SPF! Always! I had several moles removed that were pre-cancerous (!!!!) so I used this all summer. The smell.

  • I’ve also been pretty committed to my AG1 bevs and finding ways to incorporate my Ritual protein powder.

EATS & DRINKS

  • I’ve been converted to an Owala girl and for me it’s the straw and the ability to close the water bottle.

  • On top of that I almost always add a Liquid IV to my water every day. I just love it.

  • A new espresso machine is on the wishlist but for now I use and am fine with my KitchenAid machine and the beans I get from Chain & Spoke a few times a month.

  • These were a last year purchase but I use them daily on the go and at home and get so many compliments.

  • I got a little addicted to a green juice at a shop in Des Moines. Just seeing this pc kind of makes me want to revive my purchases or simply do it at home but #alltheparts

  • I don’t go very long without Batch Balanced ham & swiss in my freezer.

JEWELRY & ACCESSORIES

  • I got this new band for my Apple Watch I quite enjoy

  • My ears have been double pierced forever, but it was only this year I used those holes, and I nabbed these two in Chicago at Rowan.

  • I’m pretty committed to the blue light glasses and wear these almost daily.

  • Maybe it’s cause I was just in NYC recently, but you can find me in this hat about 3x per week.

  • Love my CRAP eyewear, purchased from Marne.

  • Purchased a couple Gigi Pip hats the last couple years I still love — what I’m saying is they’re quality & they last even when kids try to wear them and destroy them.

MISC

  • Once a Papier girl, always a Papier girl. Got the notebook and 2025 planner!

  • Got these Brook Linen sheets last year and HOLY SMOKES they say they get better with every wash and they weren’t lying.

  • Started organizing old/new photos in this with this label maker. Fabulous combo.

  • Still have & love my Who Gives a Crap subscription for tp, tissues, and paper towels, as well as all the Blueland items like laundry detergent, soap, and cleaning spray.

WRAP IT UP

I’m sure I’m missing 50+ other items, but based on perusing my house, wracking my brain, and looking at photos in prep for my 2024 Year in Review post I plan to write, this is what populated.

Hope you find something you love, please tell me if you do end up loving it — nothing makes me happier than knowing a recommendation brought you joy!
