Friday Fives, 1.31.2025

Oh hooray, a Friday without sickness! I was on a roll with my Friday Fives and then BAM, Norovirus hit and I was out for 36 hours. Honestly I’d take that over a 2-week sinus infection / cold any day. That said, more to talk about but I’ll keep it brief ish ok???

1. I used to go to social media with all my ideas and it was so fun so here I am again…. I have this idea 🤣 What we do at Hummingbirds is all about the small, local creator finding and working with brands. I have been considering starting an account from scratch (or reviving @iowanderers???) and doing it as a project together. I’m of the belief anyone can start, grow, and monetize their social presence and because I’ve been engrossed in the creator economy for years now, I thought it could be fun to do a little bit more on social again through the lens of one of our own Hummingbirds creators! Tell me what you think in Messenger / DM.

2. Well you know I was in Vegas and I had the best time. A few things I’d do again in literally .001 seconds.

• T-E-A hair and scalp spa — do I need to say anymore? No, it’s just as it sounds but better.

• KAMU karaoke in a private room. Again, no further comment it the best and only way to do karaoke.

• Komodo’s menu was insane.

• Staying at Fontainebleau was also such a treat.

• Private table at Club Omnia was also just a new way to visit a club and now my new standard if I’m going to a club.

I obviously brought a disposable camera :) A few fun shots, so many are absolute garbage and grainy but hey we tried.

3. I have the best friends. Some I see every month, some I see once a year, some once a decade. I feel so grateful that a majority of these relationships are strong despite my absence raising littles and building Hummingbirds. It’s something I deeply treasure. Hi, Whitney.

4. Tell me a better sparkling water than Raspberry Lime Spindrift. I’m addicted.

5. I’m not like fully back to wavy hair but look, I love the middle part straight look with a bit of a flip just as much as I like the big waves big side part. I won’t color my hair anymore so this is my creative expression.
